Overview

The Abilene Christian University Students' Association (or SA, as it is commonly known) is comprised of all full-time undergraduate students currently enrolled at ACU. We are home to more that one hundred student groups and organizations on campus including interest groups, multicultural organizations, academic societies, social clubs, and service organizations.

The SA Congress is the primary representative body for the students of ACU. All undergrad students are eligible to run for congressional positions that represent their class, their dorm, or their specific college. Throughout the year, the SA Congress implements legislation that directly affects all aspects of student life. Its rich history and impressive list of past accomplishments are testaments to SA’s successful advocacy for the student body.

Our purpose is two-fold: to provide an atmosphere in which each student has the opportunity to grow spiritually, academically, and socially, and to serve the students by leadership through service. SA Congress operates out of the office located in the bottom of the Campus Center next to the Smokehouse Grill (formerly the Bean Sprout). The Student’s Association office also acts as the hub for student organizations on campus, where resources are readily available for each group’s specific needs. If we don’t have what you’re looking for, let us know and we’ll do our best to assist you.

The Executive Officers (XO’s) of SA consist of the President, Vice-President, and Treasurer, who are elected by the student body. The elected XO’s then appoint the Secretary, who is the fourth and final Executive Officer.

Administrative Officers (AO’s) are then appointed to complete the Executive Cabinet. The Chief Development Officer (CDO), Chief Communication Officer (CCO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) make up the Administrative Office of SA. This year Congress voted to add a Chaplain position on a trial basis; at the end of the year Congress will vote to determine its permanency. Together these Administrative Officers work with the Executive Officers to implement all congressional legislation and improve student life.

The Executive Cabinet and the SA Congress are working daily to support ACU’s student groups and better each student’s campus experience. Every student is a part of the Student’s Association, so if you see ways to improve campus life please don’t hesitate to contact your representatives or stop by the SA Office. Your voice is important, and we look forward to serving you in the future.
