Accomplishments

* Fountain Drink Dispenser in the Bean Sprout (Fall 2007): to reduce congestion caused by mixing drinks by hand, we placed a fountain drink dispenser downstairs in the Bean Sprout.
* Ultimate Frisbee Club (Fall 2007): SA helped create the competitive, traveling Ultimate Frisbee Team for the benefit of many ACU students.
* Global Samaritan Resources (Fall 2007): SA acknowledged its support of the formation of this student organization which will raise awareness and volunteers for the work of Global Samaritan Resources.
* Lights on the Lunsford Trail (Fall 2007): SA supported the addition of lights around the Lunsford Trail.
* Silence Sessions (Fall 2007): SA helped reestablish this organization, which creates and enriches the Abilene music-scene and provides concert venues and recording opportunities for bands.
* Off-Campus Living for Presidential Scholars (Fall 2007): We helped negotiate arrangements allowing Presidential Scholars to live off campus with a minimal deduction to their scholarship.
* John & Ruth Stevens Centennial Students' Association Endowment: Established to ensure the future of the Student’s Association.
* Welcome Week: Run by the First Year Program, Welcome Week was established to provide incoming freshman and transfer students with a warm welcome and provide for their easy adaptation to university life.
* Fall Break: Since ACU Students do not get off for Labor Day, SA Congress worked to establish Fall Break, a long weekend in October for all ACU Students and Faculty.
* Warner Bros. Television: SA Congress worked with the Dean of Campus Life to bring the WB to ACU’s normal cable service.
* More Convenient Bean Hours (Spring 2006): SA Congress worked with the Bean to open the Bean on Sunday nights so that students had somewhere to eat.
* ACU Bike Racks (Fall 2005): Networked with the Foreign Language Department to provide new bike racks around campus.
* Creation of Sikes/WPAC Parking Lot: SA Congress helped create a more accessible parking area between Sikes and the Williams Performing Arts Center.
* Board of Trustees Student Development Committee: Lobbied and received an invitation to sit on the Board of Trustees Development Committee..
* Involvement Program: The Wildcat Express is distributed to every student's mailbox during the first week of fall classes. The brochure lists all student groups on campus and provided contact information so students may get connected right away.
* Higher Ground and Invision: Two phenomenal leadership development retreats established to provide new avenues for students to lead.
* Student Group Subsidies: SA provides the opportunity for all student groups requiring funding to submit budget requests electronically at the beginning of both the fall and spring semesters. A standard set of budgetary principles govern allocations.
* Haiti Relief Fund (Fall 2004), Tsunami World Relief Fund (Spring 2005), and Hurricane Katrina/Rita Fund-raisers: Through the leadership of Students' Association, the student body raised nearly $15,000 through the sales of relief bracelets, chapel contributions, and a direct donation from the Students' Association budget.
* Neighbor For Neighbor: An initiative to connect students, through service, to surrounding neighborhoods with the goal of establishing community.
